The Classic & Fun look of Summer Stripes
Stripes are back for spring 2011 (if you can say they ever went out in the first place) But now, they’re all over the runway in multiple shapes and color combinations, each more surprising than the last. And no, and I'm not only talking about those bold Prada prints wich might be too bold for the militant tznius police that seems to find colors offensive...I'm pro colors myself , Hashem made them!
Some of the cuter interpretations of this classic look where found in those Retro bubblegum stripes that ruled at Marc Jacobs and Tory Burch, while the look took a more subdued and frum friendly nautical vacation at Jil Sander. So in a nutshell (or sea shell to keep the beach theme going) For spring 2011, the looks range from timeless to envelope-pushing .
How much flare and whimsy you can handle dear readers is in your hands and closet.
If you love summer stripes....
Invest in stripes that you see becoming wardrobe staples. Save on more funky styled ones .
Pick tops that have their fair share of attitude by example : a long-sleeve knits in bold colors that pop, or maybe some asymmetrical frocks and sweaters with unexpected detailing.
Cute and cool is the name of the game!
Here are some fave stripey stripes :)
