FFM Favorite Spring Trends & Looks Part 1
Spring is coming and with it a fabulous new fashion season!!!!
Many past trends have been reworked and reinterpreted in to very nostalgic ladylike looks that fit perfectly into our tznius dress code.
This season it seems that grace Kelly was the muse of many, no more “borrowing from the boys” or any military inspired silhouettes or details B’H just a return to femininity and glamour. Call it the “cate Middleton” effect but dressing is all about “princess chic” I wonder if designers are secretly hoping cate will pick them exclusively....after all Jackie had Oleg Cassini as her exclusive stylist/designer.
I spent the past few days watching Fashion Shows online and taking notes on the developing trends to create a comprehensive report on the Romantic season for fashion. Hurray 4 Spring!!!
Silhouettes: flowing dresses ,hourglass figures (peplums , cinched waists) retro inspired looks from the 30's ,50’s ,60’s and a nod to the 20’s in the form of dropped waist dresses and cloche hats seen at the Ralph Lauren runway. Some sporty touches for a more minimalist look.Jackie O style embellished coats, cropped boxy jackets .Tribal looks mixed with unexpected modern style.
Colors: ranging from feminine pastels baby, pink, powder blue, pale yellow, mint green, soft tangerines to shocking neon .iridescence in leather and sequins is still going strong. Marine inspired shades of blues and aqua are making a return and look stunning both on both makeup & clothes.
Print: Lots of floral and vintage style zoological prints, marine inspired even fruit and foods LOL …. (Butterflies, hummingbirds are my favorites)
Textures: Leather mixed lace and doily like texture in dresses and collars amp up the girly frilly factor.3D cut flowers took my breath away. I’m planning a DIY as it is very easy to recreate, lavish embellishments : )
enjoy!
