Shaitel hair revival RX

Hi,

Today I will share with you how I keep my wigs looking awesome for as long as possible. For years I have been using a Dominican hair care product called silicone mix, this conditioner and shampoo does a amazing job at filling the cuticle and restoring wig hair😊 .

I use something called the boiling method, yup boiling ! Learning this deep conditioning technique will save you from unnecessary tangling and will extend the life of your wig.

First make sure your wig is well brushed and tangle free.
After that is done all you will need is a large pot and some Silicon Mix. Silicon mix is a crème base deep conditioner. The cost of this product is cheap , and you can find it at most beauty supply stores where African American products are sold or Amazon.

**Important: this product doesn’t necessarily have the best smell but it is not horrible. I find it can be a little on the strong side so just add your favorite conditioner or styling product when it’s time to style. I personally just spritz some rose water and it's all good to go.

What you will need to do after the detangling is done is begin to boil a pot full of water. Your pot size should depend on how long your wig is.
The size matters because you want to make sure the hair gets saturated fully and submerged under the water.
Once you boil your water, scoop out about 1/4 cup of the silicon mix and drop into the boiling water. Stir the product around and then place your wig into the boiling mixture. Again, make sure all hair is submerged and soaking.

Turn the water off and Leave your shaitel resting in the boiling water for about 15 to 20 minutes. If you like, you can also put a lid on the pot. Once the time is up, use a kitchen utensil to CAREFULLY remove the wig , I like running it under cold water to remove any surplus product and then I place it on a towel to air dry overnight. The next day, the hair should be totally dry. At that point, you can style your shaitel as usual.

In 20 years of covering I have not experienced any cap shrinkage. Please learn this method on a wig you had given up on just to be on the safe side before trying on a expensive one, one of this wigs is lace front and I noticed no issues . I do this deep conditioning once every few months or whenever there is clumping or tangling on a older wig .

Enjoy !
